Boca’s home defence faces Talleres’ away test

The key question before Saturday’s Liga Profesional Argentina match is whether Boca Juniors’ home defensive record can contain Talleres Cordoba’s away scoring output. Boca are unbeaten at home this league season, with 7 wins and 6 draws from 14 home games. They have conceded 8 home goals, an average of 0.60 per home game, and kept 8 home clean sheets. Talleres’ away record is 4 wins, 4 draws and 6 losses from 14 away games, with 14 goals scored and 16 conceded.

A clear Clausura Group A gap

The provisional Clausura - Group A standings place Boca #3 with 21 points from 12 games, while Talleres are #15 with 9 points from 12 games. That makes the table position and current points total the clearest verified stake for both sides. Boca’s Clausura record is 5 wins, 6 draws and 1 loss; Talleres have 2 wins, 3 draws and 7 losses.

Merentiel the named attacking reference

Boca most often use a 4-3-3, recorded in 10 matches, while Talleres’ preferred shape is 4-2-3-1, used in 13 matches. The only named scorer-chart entry is Boca’s M. Merentiel, who has 8 goals and 2 assists in 24 appearances. Talleres’ away total of 14 goals supplies the team’s clearest attacking measure.

At Alberto J. Armando on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 00:30 UTC, can Talleres turn that away scoring record into a serious test of Boca’s home clean-sheet rate?
