Pedro Rocha opened the scoring in the 58th minute, making it 1-0, before Tinga struck in the 69th minute to complete the victory at 2-0. The result gives a clear answer to how Coritiba won: they turned a level first half into a decisive second-half performance.

Second-half goals change the game

Pedro Rocha’s normal goal was the turning point, putting Coritiba ahead after neither side had scored earlier. Vitoria responded with changes, bringing on Matheuzinho for E. Britez in the 67th minute, followed by Baralhas for Caique Goncalves and Renato Kayzer for Ze Vitor in the 68th minute. Those adjustments did not prevent Tinga from adding Coritiba’s second, with Tiago Coser credited with the assist.

E. Britez was booked in the 62nd minute, while Tissi received Coritiba’s yellow card in the 90th minute. Coritiba later replaced S. Gomez, Pedro Rocha and N. Fonseca with Vini Paulista, J. Lavega and Tissi.

Coritiba move provisionally sixth

Coritiba rose provisionally to #11 with 42 points from 33 games, four points clear of Vitoria’s 38. They now trail league leaders Flamengo by 31 points. Coritiba had most recently recorded a loss before this match, while Vitoria’s latest listed result was a win.
